Ok, i did a search, didn't find this question. i just bought a 2001 camaro convertable, and i am guessing it has the alarm since it has that little red blinky light on the dash. well how does it work, i have no key remote for the car, and no car manual, so i am clueless here, does it work through the radio? cause i took the monsoon radio out and put a pioneer cd player in.

Just trying to figure out my car.

I have a 97 rs convertible, and as far as I know it has it's own brain located behind the glove box. It has a shock sensor in the trunk on the passenger side near the spare tire and jack. You can buy a key fob from the dealer, or better yet off Ebay for the 97+ camaros and program it to work yourself using the fuse box. I think it's on this site that tells you how to do it step by step, or it may be on camaroz28.com site. I'm not sure if it involves the radio at all, but i'm almost sure you have to take the radio fuse out when you program it. I hope I was some help. You can at least check to see if you have the brain, or the shock sensor in your car. Good luck.
