I talked to JBL and they said that the sub can take just about any load Ohmage as long as the amp is a decent amp. They said that teh 3ohm was chosen due to the ability to line 3 subs to get a 4ohm load. But that 2ohm or 4 works great to one sub. The ohm numbers are just more truely stated as apposed to subs that say 2 ohm and 4ohm all the time becaue they really arent that exactly...
Edit : and I can get the subs for 280 now + shipping.
