I'm in need of some advice. I already have a nice pioneer mp3 head unit and I'm looking into picking up 4 new speakers, 2 10 inch subs with a milhouse box and an amp or two to power it all. But, I need suggestions on what speakers, subs, and amp to get. While I'd like the system to hit pretty good, that's not my main concern. I'm overall concerned about sound quality. I want everything to sound great. So what do you guys recommend. I don't have much experience with audio equipment so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm probably looking at spending in and around $1000. Like I said, I'm not trying to go top of the line or anything, I just want some good components that sound great.
[Edit] I've heard good things about Infinity. What do you guys think about their Infinity Kappa 62.5i 2-ways, their 63.5i 3-ways, or their Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1d subs. Any opinions on them?
Also, what do you guys recommend for the door speakers and the mid's beside the back seats, 2-ways, 3-ways, or 4-ways?

If you are targeting sound quality then you should be using componets up front. If you have ever compared the sound difference between the 2 you would never buy a front coax speaker again if you are into music at all. Infinity makes so nice stuff, I love kicker speakers. Some may sound better but, all of my kickers have taken tons of abuse and have never let me down unlike some companies :cough: rockford fosgate :cough:2005 Cavalier LS Sport M5
http://members.cardomain.com/firefighter8615

After some searching I found these component speakers , but I have some questions. Are they pretty good speakers? I should put them up front in the door spot's correct? But, Where would I install all the different parts/components, such as the tweeters and such?
And then what about the rest of my sound system? What should I put in the panels at the rear seats? And what about subs and amps? Should I put some midrange speakers beside the rear seats? Should I just get one good 4-channel amp to power the front door speakers and subs, and power the mid's w/ my HU?
All this makes me realize that I'm a damn newbie to the car audio world.Polo Metallic Green \'96 Camaro w/Y87 Performance Package
Corey\'s Camaro

It's cool. Everyone is new at some point.
Yes. Those are a good start. Not bada$$, but a great buy for the money. On the same website, they offer CDT midranges. Throw a pair of those next to the rear seats. If you're short on cash or maybe wanna upgrade even more later, running the subs/components off a 4-channel and midranges off the headunit is a good idea. Then when you have money saved, you could put the midranges on the 4-channel and buy a seperate sub amp. But I really think you have enough money to buy the two amps now. Maybe even upgrade those components. Depends on your subwoofer selection.

Do you have any sub and amp recommendations?
What about the Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1D's I mentioned earlier?
Which are better component speakers, the CDT's mentioned above or these Infinity Component speakers ?
Also where is the best place to install all these components, especially the crossovers and the tweeters?Polo Metallic Green \'96 Camaro w/Y87 Performance Package
Corey\'s Camaro

Okay, this would be my suggestion:
Millhouse box (dual 10's) ~$230
(2) ID10v3d2 from Sounddomain ~$230 for the pair
Run them off a PG Octane R-8.0:4 (which mates perfectly to the ID subs at 250x2 rms @4 ohms) ~$160 on ebay stores
Front comps go with the CDT Cl-61's ~$150
Run those off of a PG Octane R-4.0:2 (75x2 RMS @4ohms) on ebay for ~$90
rear speakers (where seats are) CDT CL-6x ~60 - Run them off your HU
Total cost ~$920.
That leaves you with ~$80 for wire, rca's, a distro block, or even an amp rack from subthump. That should be an excellent sounding system right around your $1k budget.Eclipse 8443, CDT ES-620s in doors (Clarion APX401.2), IEK, CDT 6X in rear(HU), Image Dynamics ID10v.3D.4 in stealthbox(Clarion DPX1001.2)
http://www.sounddomain.com/id/larryfirebird33
borla cat-back, FTRA, whisper lid

Back to the infinity question. I was running 1 10w3 at 100rms and the infinity kappa components up front on or about the same watt rms and it was amazing for quality in almost every genere. I say almost because I havn't played everything but its all "tune-able" from there. I still have my stock rears and they provide enough sound to keep it a complete surrounded feeling. Might have to get another component set after I get my door back though :(95 3.4L
http://www.myspace.com/1277388
http://www.cardomain.com/profile/altspacen
http://groups.myspace.com/camarov6
