This is a thread I posted over a ls1.com, I wanted to see if any of you had this problem.
Me: After you installed the alarm do you still have retained accessory power? I don't with my viper 600 esp and I've been told that I need to have the domelight supervision feature turned off on my alarm. I might take it by the shop today and see if they'll do it. Do you think that will fix it?
SShevy: Yea you lose RAP when you do domelight supervision. However you need domelight supervision hooked up to trick the BCM into thinking the door is opened so that the remote unlock will still work (it doesnt work 10-15 mins after exiting).
Me: Ok so if I have them program the alarm to disable domelight supervision that will fix the RAP problem but it will mess up my door locks?
SShevy: Yea the doorlocks lose power after 10-15 minutes. There wont work when you hit unlock on the alarm remote. To fix that installers hook up domelight supervision...which tells the BCM to put power back on the locks so that they will work.
Me: Oh one more thing. Does it make a difference that I don't have factory power door locks? When they installed my alarm the put the power door lock actuators in so I operate my power door locks by the alarm remote only. The reason this gets on my nerves is say I park my car and I cut the ignition off and I want to listen to my radio so I turn the key back to acc. I have the ding ding ding thing that goes off for like a minute and it gets annoying.
