ok, i have a 2000 Camaro. I am going to make a custom, fiberglass box for 2 12's which requires about 1.5 cubic feet. My question is, since the trunk is so deep what i should do to seal up some of the space. I was thinking about building something with wood but I would think that it would make annoying rattling sounds. Any advice helps! Thanks!

i dont quit understand why you think wood would rattle. if its connected to the box its fine. i dont know what your question really asks either. are you trying to just position the subs up higher in the trunk, hence not needing the extra room in our pit of a trunk. Or are you wanting room to keep storing stuff back there. i need more info but maybe someone else can desipher your post.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

I just built my box for the airspace I needed..then i made a piece off trim to fit it tight to the edges, glued it to the box and carpeted it all together...but even though it doesnt rattle on mine i dont know why you would want a piece of wood trim around your Fiberglass box.97 RS,3.73 LSD,Flowmaster,Shift Kit,Edge TC,HP Tuners,EWP,SLP CAI,160*,Touchscreen monitor,& Alpine Stereo(155.2dB)15.27 N/A 1.9X 60\'s and a magic switch.

hmmm, I still think everyone is confused as to what you want to do with the wood.
Were you planning on using wood extensions or whatever to "hold up" the fiberglass box? Like having the wood extensions lay wayyy down in that deep part then hold the box up high like you want?
Like everyone else is saying, wood will not rattle. (if for some reason you used really thin wood like 1/8" paneling lol then yes it will rattle. 3/4" MDF won't rattle though) Personally, I would build a box of that size out of wood and like Wishigotan8 said, make a trim piece for up top and apply carpet.2006 Tiburon

Yeah that would work, basically anything that's of decent thickness at least (3/4" thick). Maybe for extra vibration protection, you could use some sheet metal screws to hold down that plywood board. Screw it right down to the sheet metal of the car since there is nothing under there that deep in that area of the trunk. Post some pics when its done.

My box is just above 1.0 for each 10 inch sub and I'm using the ttop well. You can do the same just raise it a bit. pics in my sigW68, K&N, Flowmaster, Walker Cat, 18 x 9.5 Chrome Y2k C5\'s w/ 275/35/18 Kumho 712\'s, Susp Tech 1.2 inch drop front, 1.7 inch drop rear, Hotchkis Adj PHR,Slotted/Cross Drilled Rotors
Hawk Pads
Pics: http://community.webshots.com/user/franjobc-date
