Head unit wirability???

Is it possible to wire a single pair of speakers to a receiver by combining the front and rear channels to double the power of those speakers safely? Without damaging neither the speakers nor the receiver? I know its a simplistic off-the-wall question, I just want to make sure I won't damange nothing.

Combining both front and rear channels into "one" won't create more power. It could possibly burn your head unit up. :eek: I wouldn't do it.
