I am going to get a box built this sunday from a friend of mine.He is going to fill the back well and use one sub a audiobahn aw1200q 700rms and an amp pushing it at about that same watts, someone said the back well would hold about 3 cu.ft. of air space which that is about what this one sub needs. How much do you guys think I would hit with just that one sub? I've heard of some ppl hitting mid 140's with one sub is that possible correct? thanks

your not hitting 140 with 700 watts RMS ill tell you that much.

And im talking on the dash with a real certified mic.

it really dosent matter about the watts does it ? just how much air gets there ?

Over 150 is POSSIBLE with a single 12". It's been done many times before. However, these are in extreme setups. Not daily drivers. So in answer to your question, 140 is possible. And, hahaha, yes "watts" does matter. :D The more power to the sub, the more it moves right? The more air is displaced. The higher the SPL.

Your giving up the entire well for a single 12"? Is the box going to be a vented design? If so, I see 140 within your reach. If not, my guess is 138-139.

yea im giving up the well for one 12 im not totally sure how he is going to port it yet i will find out sunday is that a bad thing giving up the will for only one ? the sub i believe needs alot of airspace its prolly 800 rms going to the sub... what was that they hit 150 with one sub ? what kind of set up

You won't hit over 140 with a 1200q and 800 watts unless you have one awsome vented box. It can be done but, I doubt it.

Bah. 140 on the dash should be within reach in a vented design. I was doing 145.2 with three 10"s and 1kW in a sealed box.

3 10's in a sealed box is still moving a lot more air then 1 12 ported.

i highly doubt youll hit 140, and be careful with that... i had 1500 going to 2 of those, and they both blew within the first week, and they were well broken in...

i would have to say those subs are over rated

if your goin for spl, get a single 15 (such as a brahma or DD)

and, if u make a fiberglass box, you can definately see upwards of 7 cuft if done right
