as long as it gets 12 volts it dosen't matter all the remote does is send a 12 volt signal to the amp to tell it to turn on so it dosen't matter how big the wire is prolly know this but im just gonna post it anyway lol
So there is a blue wire with yellow dots connected to the harness? Gotta be remote wire. What's with the power and ground wires to the switch? Does the switch light up on something? The way you have it now, your amps ARE NOT running off the headunit's remote turn on. They are just on one of your car's hot wires. Hopefully just an ign at least. If that wire is connected to the battery.....you flip the switch, they get power. Always. You forget and leave the switch on, your amps stay on while your gone. :(
sorry for the confusion: the blue/yellow dotted wire is not actually dotted yellow. i just made it that way to tell it apart from the other ones to try and explain it better.
and yea, the way you described it is the way i wana do it. yes, the switch has an LED light on it.
my question: do i need to connect the blue remote wire that goes to the switch/amp to the harness or HU at all? i dont think i do.. but im just curious.
not if you run a wire to the batt then back because then it woul be 12 volt. If you use the remote wire it would be pointless to have the switch because you could only turn the amps on with the headunit on.
i only want my amp on when i turn it on by the switch. the point of it is, i dotn want to listen to my system with subs a lot (in the morning i listen to a talkshow for a long commute). so pretty much i want it all at my command. can i run the remote wire straight from the switch to the amp? or does it NEED to go thru the HU?
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
