fan works only when engine is off

I did the fan switch mod and now if I hit the switch it will only turn on when the engine is off. The fans still turn on when the pcm turns them on with the engine running. I used the dark blue and the dark green wires on the passenger side. Are these the correct wires?? I used just one switch with an led on it which has three positions (high,off,low) and an add a curcuit fuse plug. Does anyone have an informative site or guide for doing this? Or an idea as to how to get it to run with the engine on also. ( I did a search and found many vague guides and message topics that were not informative).

I did mine and it works with the engine on and off... thats odd?
