Now then, your speakers. Couple of options. With the budget you set, you could probably squeeze out a set of components and a small amp. Now, many people choose to run JUST a front component set. If this is your cup of tea, you just need a cheap two channel amp. Easy enough. However, if you want rear speakers I suggest a 4-channel amp. There are even several other options. (You have the monsoon, correct?) Let us know what you think and we'll put together a good package for ya.
Okay, here is a synopsis of what I have. Sorry I didn't clarify before. I have a two rockford fosgate amp for my car already installed. No monsoon, I have pioneer 6.5's all the way around-my two in the rear are dead. I have the 6.5's in the fron that work fine and unless there is some unwritten rule about mis-matching interior speakers, they can stay. When I was runnin' at full throttle, I had the 4 channel amp pushing the interior speakers and a the tweeters were running from the deck. So, I have a four channel amp that is fine, a deck that's shot to hell, a pair of components that are fine-just in dire need of another deck, and a set of components-plus because I love the "highs" in my music, another seperate set of tweeters to accompany them...

Two what? Two amps? I thought two channel, but later you mentioned 4-channel.

If you could give us model numbers of the gear you already have, that would be ideal. What tweeters are running off the deck? Stock tweeters? The Pioneer's are a component set? Then why are the woofer and tweeter running seperatly? Sorry for the confusion. Gotta make sure we are on the same page. So right now, the only thing you have that works is the front Pioneers(?) and a 4-channel Rockford amp, correct?

My bad, typo... Two Fosgate amps. The four channel was for the entire interior, and the two channel is pushing the subs. The subs are working and that amp is fine. What's working now are both amps, the 2 front 6.5's, and a pair of MB quart tweeters. The amps: Puch 500X (125x4) and the Punch 601S (300x2). Thanks

Sweet. Much clearer now.

I thought you said you were starting for scratch? you have a whole stereo! And you don't already own a pair of components. This is a component set. Two woofers, two tweeters and two crossovers. You power them just like regular ol' co-axils. Run power to the crossover, it sends high frequencies to the tweets and lows to the woofers. A quality component set is a MUST. IMO, that comes before anything else. That being said, you have roughly $300 to spend on a component set, correct? Move the Pioneers to the rear and put the Focal 165V2's or K2's up front. If you wanna save some money, thezeb.com is offering a smoking deal on a pair of CDT CL-61's. They were classified as B-stock due to the off color of the basket. Big deal. Oh well, cheaper for us. :D Any of the three are great. The CDT's are a damn good deal though.

Thanks man, T-punk suggested those as well, I think that's what I'll go with. What deck do you have, it's my biggest dilema. I have my old, old, lold Pioneer deck in for the time being and it sucks A#@.

I currently have the Premier P940MP. Couldn't ask for more really. Money well spent. I think the Alpine 9830 is your best bet.
