Bass causes way too much vibration out of my speakers

Alright, I bet this is an easy fix, but here goes. No matter what I listen to, it seems as if the bass is just way too overpowered. At some points, it seems like my speakers are causing more vibrations than my sub in the back. Its annoying because on most occasions, the vibrating/bass coming from my speakers drowns out the mids and highs. The vibrations overtake the music itself...what can I do to fix this? Dynamat? I've tried to turn the low frequency down on my radio, but its so damned complicated I have no idea...anyone have experience with the Alpine CDA-9813's?

The CDA-9813 has a digital EQ. Dialing down the low end of things should solve your problem. If it's "so damned complicated," then you need to get the manual out.

The next thing that I'd try is removing the grills to make sure that it's not the grills that are rattling against the door trim. If that was the problem, then a little silicone will solve your problem.

If it's still rattling without the grills, then I'd pull the plastic paneling that the speakers are mounted in, and mount some rubber pads up behind it. You should be able to do both drivers for under $10 using parts from Wal-Mart. Don't waste money on dynamat.

If it's still rattling, then I'd sell the car and shoot myself in the ear.
