  • Connecting a radar detector to car's speakers

Audio gurus, how can I hardwire my radar detector to car's stereo? I need to do this because the radio detector's speaker went out, and I can find a new one anywhere.

    Thank you,

    Dmitriy

Just get an 8ohm radiosnack speaker and wire it up, be sure to use a small resistor to match the impedance of the stock speaker (its probably about 32Ohm or so).

Sorry, guys. The last line of my post should have been: can't find a new one anywhere.

Radio Shack does not sell speakers that small anymore. It is the only place I know of that sells electronic components.

i really dont think thats a good idea .. u dont want to send more than one signal to your speakers.. they would cancel each other out or sound like a jumbled mess...

              Try:

              http://www.mcmelectronics.com/
              or
              http://www.partsexpress.com/

for a larger variety of speakers (and tons of other components) than Rat Shack carries.
