Those aren't W3's. W3's have a vented pole piece...see how the "JL" sticker on the bottom of the magnet assembly covers the entire bottom of it? The W3 has a large circular vent in the middle of the magnet assembly, inside the pole piece....note the vented pole piece. Those speakers aren't vented, they are a competition series woofer, note the chrome basket. I don't even think they are W6's. W6's don't have a vented pole piece, but the magnet assembly on those woofers look extrememly small for even older W6's....given that they are large woofers (15's) it can be decieving, the magnet structure size I mean. Either way, it's not worth argueing about. They are 15 inch subwoofers, and I'm sure they are loud. The setup looks nice, but I just don't understand the physical explanation as to HOW it could SHATTER the rear hatch window...or any window regardless. Also, you are right, those aren't the 1000 monos, compare the width of the amps to the width of the speakers. Even if those woofers were 18's, the 1000/1 would look much wider in comparison.

Now, notice how each amp is slightly shorter (lenghtwise) than the woofers are in diameter. I would bet anyone that those are 15 inch woofers, the basket is designed too large for a 12 inch woofer. Say they are 15's....those amps are shorter than 15 inches long, each. The 500/1, as I have found above, is 13.4" long....looks like a winner to me. Were those 1000/1's the woofers would have to be like 23 inches in diameter.....given that the 1000/1 is 19.7" long and the woofers diameter is larger...now, have you ever seen a 23 inch JL subwoofer, regardless of series (W3,W6,W7,etc.)? :cool:
