my front door speakers are getting crappy and in fact i took out the door driver side speaker cause it wouldnt stop buzzing and crackling

need something middle of the line to replace those with, not looking for premium speakers just something that will get the job done a tad better than stock monsoons.

next are the "subs" that are behind the front seats. Blew them once already, and now blown again. they are stock monsoons. wanted to replace them with 6 inch subs but dont wanna spend a fortune, and cheapest i can find is like 130 each. what could i replace those with that would give me decent bass like the stock 500w monsoon did. just want something as good as stock but will last longer.

will not be putting in a sub unless last means available and WILL NOT be replacing stock amp

prices and brands would be nice

    thanks

For a tad better than stock, I might look at some Infinity Reference 6002i's. They retail for about $80/pair.

You can have a listen to my Infinity Kappas if you like... They sound similar, but go for about $160/pair though. The main difference is the tweeter material: References have soft domes, Kappas has hard ones. The different materials color the high end a bit differently, but it's mostly a personal preference thing.

when I put a new system in my camaro I put those Infinity 6002i's all the way around and they sound nice. They give you good sound from high to low. So I would highly recomend them if you want to put new speakers in your car.

I think you'd be better off if you just had a listen for yourself.... maybe this weekend. I've never really paid much attention to the low end of my 6.5's, since i've got 12's in the back.

I had the Infinity Kappa 3 way speakers all the way around in my car, they sounded nice but i ditched them BC the tweeters kept blowing out.

I replaced the front with Crossfire components and i like the way it sounds. I like the fact that you can angle the tweeter to what ever your prefrence is.

And about the 6'' sub in the back, you wont find many 6'' subs out there. And the ones that you do find wont do good with a factory amp. Maybe you just want to replace them with the same kind.

If i were you i would ditch the stock 6'' sub. And go with a single 10'' or 8'' sub in a stealth box.

I just got some Kenwood components in the front. I wired the wires comming off the head unit to the tweeters, then the ones coming off of the amp to the crossover for the 6 1/2. I mounted the tweeter in a pod in the sail panel. I got them dirt cheap, 74 bucks for the pair brand new. Sound real good and it gives the car a surround sound effect. Ver little distortion at high volumes even with the crappy Monsoon.

I just got my car and was very dissappointed with the stock speakers. they got very distorted easily. so i went to walmart and they had that wall of speakers and head units. i was really impressed with the pioneer 6 1/2's and they were only 60 bucks. when i put them in it was like nite and day difference amazing quality and bass. oh and i only put front speakers in. after i get them for the back i think i wont even do anymore.
