  • Need help to change 2000 Firebird turn signals to European system

    Hi.
I have Firebird 3.8 year 2000 here in Spain, and in order to get it imported, I have to change the lighting system. So far I have seperated the rear brake lights from the rear turn signals, and changed the colour of the turn signals to amber.I now have to rewire the front turnsignals, so they aren't on all the time the ignition is turned on. I have seperated the front turnsignals and positional lights, but didn't realise that the turn signals come on as positional lights when the engine is running, and this is what I need help with. I was going to run two wires from the rear turnsignals to the front ones, but before I do, just thought I'd ask here if there is another way to do this?
    Thanks in advance

I seperated the two systems, and fitted two extra lights for the turnsignals

Nick, you can run wire from turn switch - light blue/white for left and dark blue/white for right ( i think, but I have wiring diagram only for FB up to '98 .... an my car is '94)

and , I forget, dont run wire for front turn signals from rear, because you put front light on the same switch as rear and in this case you double current runing through it. In origin state signal switches in signal switch assembly are separated.

Well, I fixed the problem. Apparently there is a module for the Daylight running light, but I don´t have a wiring diagram. So I wired the rear turn signal lamp to the front lamp, cutting the original wire and leaving it disconnected. As I had used only one lamp in the new rear turnsignal light, I still have the same loading on the controller, and so there is no problem with running it this way.Anybody needs to do it too, just email me and I will explain how to do it: nickcann@teleline.es
              Thanks for reading!!
