I would still disconnect the sub real quick and see if the protection light still comes on. If it still comes on, then you know for sure it's not the sub

make sure the sub is wired right no neg. with posiives check your ground look at your speaker wires and make sure the wires arent open and are touching, or maybe you blew your amp up before you blew the fuses all are posible

ive tried disconnecting the sub, and i still have a protection light. so its GOTTA be something with my amp.. right?

I'd say there is something wrong with your amp at this point.

Like 96firebird311 pointed out, the 80amp fuse should've blown if the amp was trying to draw more amps than what the fuse was rated for.

my audiobahn 12001DT amp did the same thing... twice
i got it replaced both times under warranty

but, it is usually from lack of supply power... your amp needs to be able to draw up to 90 amps, you only gave it 80... on that big bass hit, it tried to pull more power, but couldnt!

thats why you should always put a size bigger on your wire... that fuse is to protect your wire and car, the fuses on the amp will protect the amp from drawing more than 80amps...

its not.. im going to a place called the music bar today to have them look at it. its a 50 dollar diagnostic fee. but hopefully its nothing to major thats wrong with it that they could fix?

well when my friend send his out to get fixed it was like 100 or something to fix it because it wasnt under warante. but was better then buying another amp see how much it would be to fix. then make you decision would prolly be best to get it fixed then it will be stronger when it comes back most likely to handle what your gonna put it through

yea. and i found another place called audio exchange, they look at it for only 19 dolalrs. so ill post back in a few days when i get the report back from him. thanks you guys for your help
