• What to do for speakers?

Well the car we have has all the speakers pulled out. The person that owned to car before must of had aftermarket ones in and then pulled them out. Wires have been cut and they have run wires from the speakers that were in the back seat behind the front seats to the back probley for an amp. Also this car doesn't have the Monsoon system in it. My question is what should a guy do for speakers for this car.

A really cheap set of speakers are the CDT full range speakers. They are coax but they still sound great for 50 bucks a pair. Also if you need an amp the elemental designs amps are great. A cheap HU that is decent is actually Iawa. Hope this helps a little, good luck.

It all depends on what you want out of your system and how much you're willing to spend. If you're looking for something simple, Tpunk made a very good suggestion with the CDT coaxials. Your doors take 6-1/2" speakers as well as the rear.

Going to a car stereo shop is free. They will tell you what is in your car & what you can do. They will want to do it, but most places will tell you what set up 2 use, & what you had.
Its the best resorse. Look one up in your yellow pages. They like to look @ cars to see what they can do, but will tell you whats up at no change.

FYI If you have a Wal-Mart in your area, they have a book that shows all stock speakers for cars. Size & place in the car. Just look to see what speaker you need, and it will show what size goes in what place. Good luck, Crash.

Doubt he can afford most focals but they are excelent speakers. I forgot to tell you where to get the cdt's, go to www.thezeb.com and look under shop by brand and click CDT.

No need to look up sizes anywhere. They are 6 3/4" for the front door and rear seat area. Under the hatch may be two 4" speakers, but I'd overlook them when installing aftermarket gear. Are you looking for an actual system? Or just something to play music? If you're just looking for anything, two pair of the CDTs from thezeb.com would be a great choice. If you're looking for more, just let us know. ;) Do you have a headunit or did the previous owner remove that too?

Also, top of this page. Click modifications encyclopedia. Click on stereo/electronics. Good read for those new to the f-body audio scene.

Wouldn't pay more then about $30 for the four if I were you. Think you're making a mistake. Search the boards a little more and you'll see the mass having issues with the stock speakers. Not saying you need anything super nice or need the best sound quality, but rarely is anything stock better then anything aftermarket. lol

well it's my fathers car and he wants to do what he wants to do. I have been trying to tell him it would be easy to get aftermarket ones and put in but he still thinks getting stock ones will be better. Oh well its his car.
