  • Stereo Too Loud!!!

Is my car just wierd or are all of the camaro's like this. I've had 2 different CD Players in my car one Poineer 1500 and a Pioneer 4500, and they are both are actaully too loud. On zero volume setting you can hear the speakers hissing and on one, it's too loud just sittin in a parking lot or something. And much past 5 and it's about to blow my speakers, not cause there bad speakers it's just way to loud! And whenever i turn any of them off, the speakers make a loud pop. Whats up? I don't know much about all the audio stuff. Is it my speakers? It's kinda annoying.

It sounds like you had a factory amp. The pop comes from the 2 amps coming on at different times and that can be fixed by running seperate speaker wire somehow.

If i have an amp, i don't know where they are. where would they be at? I do have the Bose sound system, so maybe i do, but i've never seen them before if i have them.

I'm going to be installing my new headunit this weekend if it gets here (hopefully). I've got the stock bose setup right now. From what I've read you have to have something plugin between the stock wiring, and your new headunit to make the volume control work right and to stop all popping and hissing noises. I ordered my part from here. The part # is ROEM-GM21. If I get to install my player this weekend, I'll let you know if this part works.

Installed the stereo last night and it works just fine, so I guess that's the part you need to buy
