Just looking around, MTX looks hella sweet, and JL is kinda pricey, just wondering if there were any other options. Thanks.

There are several generic type boxes. I went to my local car audio shop and bought a generic stealth box for $75! You might check out my passenger stealth. It's at least twice as loud as the mtx box. :D

I built one in driverside rear pocket area out of fiberglass. I'll outline my method here.
1. Make a mold of the area you want to fill. I used a heavyweight garbage bag that I filled with expanding foam. The foam filled up the space matching the area exactly. I used some cardboard boxes to take up some of the room so I didn't need as much foam.
2. Sand down your mold once it hardens so it slips in and out easily.
3. Cover the outside of the mold with fiberglass mat. Follow the instructions on the fiberglass resin. This is messy! Remember the fiberglass will be bigger than your mold so make sure you sanded enough off the mold.
4. Sand down your box.
5 Cut the right size hole for your woofer. Scoop out the foam from the inside.
6. Cut out a hole to mount quick disconnects in for your subwoofer.
7. solder wires to the inside of the quick disconnect. Install.
8. Carpet front of box. Use spray adhesive to bond carpet to fiberglass.
9. solder wires to sub. Install.
10. Done!

Have any idea how many cubes you got out of that box? You should have a little over 1 or 1.5. I've been wanting to re-do my homemade box with hopes of increasing volume. How many layers of fiberglass did you use? How thick were the walls once completed?
Another question: How could I fix the box to the body? I can hear mine jump when I hit a hard bump.

Actually for my sub I should have around .75 cubic feet. (JL 10W0 - 4ohm). I bet I got about .6 or so then I stuffed with polyfill. Sounds great. The walls are pretty thing compared to a wood box but the fiberglass is super strong. Used 3 layers of fiberglass (this is the minimum, I think pro boxes use about 4). Mine ia custom fit to the hole, nothing fixes it to the body, it wedges in places VERY tightly, I mean it doesn't move an inch.
