RF or Alpine?

(2) RF HE2 12'' or (2) Alpine Type R 12'' which one would hit harder and make the most spl out of a sealed box and 225 RMS watts to each sub?

Or and other 12'' sub in the $200 price range.

well i'm not sure which to use, but i will say that the Type R's POUND! they are illegal in competion because alpine seriously underrated the power handling capabilities. i think they advertise 700W, and you can easily put over 1000 to each one. those things hit. but sending that small amount of current to them, i wouldn't be able to tell you which is better.

i used to sell both....i have 2 12 he2's...they rock man.....RockFord has better sound quality that Alpine....Rockford hits harder too....i had three 12" he2's in my ext. xtreme and that sucked my roof in 3 inches...it was in a ported box all along the cab but still...it was nuts...i have two 12" he2's in my car....its a convertible and i hit 141.7 db...that is amazing..i also have a big amp though...if i were you go for the Rockford..youl be happier. :D

How can an underrated speaker be banned from competiion? Does the wattage rating of speaker have anything to do with which class you compete in? I thought it was amplifier output at some specified input voltage and output impedance that determined class? I can see how a "cheater" amp might be banned, but why a speaker?

I have only one ten inch Type R and i am telling you that you need to get the Type R becasue the one i have hits harder than a JL W6. I know this becasue i have a W6 in my chevelle and its a 12 and doesnt even compare to the 10 inch type R [img]graemlins/fluffy.gif[/img]

Alpine is the poop. I hit 139db/spl last time i got my stuff measured, and plus they look better than rockford.

RSfiredog hit a 139 with two 12 type r's....my subs are set up exactly like his are in my car's trunk...hit is a hatch back...mine is a convertible where all the sound seeps out and i hit a 141 with my two 12 rockfords,if my care were a hatch back then it would be way louder. so if you want louder then go with rockford. the new rockford dust cap have silver on them. :D
