• Calling SUBTHUMP...

I am going to be getting my system together.. And I want to put my amp on the back ttop storage wall.. I was going to make a amp rack for it but im not really sure how to do it.. Could you tell me how you go by doing so? Like the size of the box and if theres a piece on the back or is it just the front and sides? I wanted to make my amp like inside of the box so all you could see is the top of the amp.. Could you please help..

My amp comes Wednesday and I wanted to get started then when I get the size of the amp...

Thanks
Derek

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Do you just want an amp rack for the back wall of the trunk, or do you want it built into a box somehow

Im gonna make the amp built into the amp rack on the back wall..So its all flush.. How do you make your boxes and what size is it?

And what do you cover yours with? And where could I get something like that?

One last thing is will this interfere with a MTX Thunderform 6000? Like will the box cover some of the sub or something?

You don't want to cover the top of the amp with plexi or anything, unless you want to mess with adding fans.. if that's what you mean by 'cover it with' .. If you meant what kind of carpet/etc.. Try www.partsexpress.com and look for automotive carpet, it's cheap, and they probably have a good color to match your interior.. Let me find a link to amp-rack building.. Ahh, ok.. here..

Good luck..

If you try to make the rack flush with the amp, then it may interfere with a stealthbox.

Here's a rack I made for a JL amp. Notice how I angled the sides back so it wouldn't cover over a stealthbox.

Whats the measurements of that? That would look really nice..

And what do you use to carpet the box? Where can I find that?

The carpet I get from a local ulpholstry place. I didn't keep the sizes of any of that rack since it was all custom.

Do you have any other pictures of them?

Is it hard to make the box around the lumps of the back wall? I need all the help you could give me!

Well how much are the racks from you? If I were to get one like the JL one?

It's on page 145 of the parts express catalog, "automotive carpet" .. Part numbers 261-700, 261-710, etc.. up to like 261-750.. search for any of those.. It comes in black, navy, medium blue, scarlet, burgundy, medium dark oak, medium graphite, medium gray, charcoal.. It's unbacked, so its easy to bend and stick, etc.. costs 4.95 for a 36x40 piece, 3.95 each if you buy 10 or more..

Good luck
