• I need better speakers

Any suggestions on some speakers that will sound good and loud when i am going 118 down the interstate with the top down. :D Would love to have some subs...but i need the trunk...and that sub you put in the side of the trunk won't work cause i have my tire on one side, and my valves for the top on the other

If you really want some subs and want to keep all of the space then look here:

As for the speakers, pretty much anything out there is better than factory. Just go to some place like circuit city and find some 6 1/2" - 6 3/4" speakers that you like.

I've got Infinity Kappa's all the way around and I've never regreted it for one second!!! I wanted the cleanest sound possible, not necesarily the loudest so Infinity was a natural choice for me. I've got a Kenwood excelon head unit controling two Sony amps, I'm not sure of the model numbers (made before that X-plod crap). In the doors I have the 63.1 something I think. They are three ways with the EMIT tweeter (don't know if they make that anymore) but they absolutely scream. The amp is only pushing 50 watts from each channel and I think they could handle more. But, my recomendation is to go with quality separates. They play louder and clearer than the coaxials.

As far as an amp/sub set-up, I'm afraid I can't help you on that one since you have a convertible. :( I've got one Infinity 12" Kappa (the green ones from a few years back) and it adds the perfect amount of bass in my opinion. I've got it tucked in that little corner in the back where your valves are. Do you have ANY space in the back for some amps or speakers? I haven't seen the inside of a 'vert's hatch so I don't have much to go on.

Hope this helps you out some! :D :D

i know these aren't subs...but would you be interested in buying some 6.5" clarion speakers? $35 shipped. and i also might be selling a sub system pretty soon--i can't make up my mind if i want to sell it and get the money for a torque converter or just install it myself. but here's what i will be selling:

400 watt pyramid amp (everyone disses them, i have a friend who has had one for 2 years and it puts out serious power and has never had any problems and stays relatively cool compared to most amps i've seen).

sub box for the trunk cubby hole

maybe a 10" sub for the box

prolly sell all this around $250, without the sub prolly $150 plus shipping OBO. let me know if you might be interested in either the clarions or this sub setup--remember, i may not sell it, i may use it; but i figured i'd tell ya anyway, cause there's a 50/50 chance i'll sell it...or keep it :D
