• Installing Subs+amp on a radio w/o connectors?

All the new cars these days come with specially designed stereos that you just can't replace with out it looking like you got jacked and had to replace it with a after market one. Plus all the newer cars have stereo controls on the wheel and I'd like to keep those. My 98 maro is getting old and the hot sexy 400hp 2005 GTO is just around the bend for me. The problem is I have nice setup in my maro that I want to move over. My current deck I can live without but I must keep my 2 subs and amp, both by Rockford. I love the thump-thidy-thump-thump . It has been a while since I have installed car stereo's so what is needed these days to setup a amp if your new car does not have RCA type ports?

Thanks

get a line out convertor from a best buy or something. it takes normal speaker wires from your speakers, and you can solder the adapter into the wires and it gives you a set of RCAs for your amp. Thats what I have for my camaro so I could keep the stock HU.

So those speaker wires that you use can you no longer use them or are you just tapping into the line? If so have you noticed any problems in the sound from your mids or tweets?

It just taps into the factory speaker wires.

If you have speaker level inputs on your amp, can't you just use those?
Your sig is the most important part of your message. Make sure that you list EVERY single thing that you have done to your car so that we can all go \'oooh!\' and \'Ah!\'. Please make your sig consistently longer than anything else you post. Please include your lengthy sig with EVERY single post you make during a reply, even if you only reply with a monosyllable grunt.
