  • running door speakers off amp

today at work i went next door to t.c. customized and i was talking to them about getting my stealth box. and i asked him if i should just run the front speakers off an amp or just use the head unit beacause their weaker wattage wise. and he said definately go with the amp esp. with the stealth box because their will be so much bass you'll need an amp get the highs. so i was wonder any one know how hard it would be to wire up the fronts to run off an amp? could you just use the wires it uses already? they also told me to get a crossfire amp anyone ever heard of these or know if there good?

Ok well first of all tell me everything that your currently have.

What type of radio, or is it stock?

what type of speakers are up front? stock?

Also i run crossfire components up front and a crossfire amp is pushing my mids and higs. And let me tell you crossfire kicks ***! Sounds very loud and clean. I also love their 3 yr warantee.

In the near future i am getting (2) crossfire 15s to replace my 10'' fosgates.

If you're going to power the front Pioneers with an Amp you're better off running new speaker wire. Its not hard to fish the new speaker wires through the rubber boots between the doors, it just takes time. Plus if you ever decide to sell the car someday all of the factory wiring will still be there and in tact.
