My factory keyless entry barely works :( . I can't afford pro install on a pricey alarm. In Summit Racings catalogue they have Bulldog Alarms for $74 and just remote keyless for $50. How hard is it to install these? I heard some are "one wire hook-up" and can be installed really easy.

If you're just looking for keyless entry, look around for a DEI unit for that. 752T is the model if I recall correctly. Keyless entry is not "that" hard to install, but with out a basic knowledge of wiring things together, you're gonna break something. It probably wouldn't be that expensive installed. Most shops would probably sell that unit for 125-150 installed.

What do you mean by 'barely works'? It barely works because I have to be right next to the car for it to work. When I bought the car 2 years ago, it worked from around 20-30ft. Now it takes several tries and I've even tried replacing the remote batteries. Trust me ;) when I say it barely works. I am really good with wiring and know I can install it. I just need to know if they are a pain, or easy. I don't feel like working for hours and hours on it.Comment

You should just get another remote for it. My remote went bad back in 1999, and after getting a new remote from GM, it worked like the day I bought my car from the dealer. The remote costs somewhere in the area of $15.00-$20.00, and it comes with an instruction page to tell you how to program it to your car. It only takes about 3 minutes to do, it's a real simple program (but I forget how to do it).

If you get one from a dealer it's going to be $53-$55.,I just called yesterday to get one for my wife. I lost mine a while back and found one on e-bay for $20. Crutchfield had a wiring harrness for alarms at one time, you might check them out. Also, I'm wondering if you can use the factory wiring from the keyless unit to hook up a new one?Comment

Well, I was sorta wrong. I bought the Remote Sept.19th, 1999 from the dealer and it cost me $24.87. I found the recipt in my glove box.
Don't know if the wiring harness will fit the new alarm system. It may take you awhile to find the specs of each wire and what they do.
