I have a temporary box in my back seat right now and am wondreing what kind of system it was designed for....it holds 2 12's but they are really tucked in the box and the top of the sub is about the halfway point inside the box. It also has a oval cutout at the top of the box with a clear plexiglass piece (which I've removed because it didn't sound too good!) but what kind of setup would a box like this be used for? I heard it is an SUV box??? The camaro box for the hatch should be here in two days anyways, but I was just curious.

Sounds like that box used to be a bandpass box. Bandpass boxes have a small airspace in front of the cones that's sealed of by plexiglass, and then behind the cones it's a ported box. What that type of box does is create a peak in the output in a small range. Generally those boxes are just for people who want to boom loud and don't really care what anything sounds like (i.e. - the Caddy's & Oldies you see with the trunk rattling so hard it's about to fall off) It's not only for SUV's though.
