  • Old head unit problems are here

ok guys, just replaced my head unit from my 98. stock casette with a 12 disc changer. i got a panasonic and dont use the changer anymore. before i replaced it, it would just go out occasionally, usually when it was just being started. sometimes it wouldnt come on at all, without a little persuasion. i'd have to hit the dash for it to come on. well, the new head unit does it also. i think there may be a short somewhere in the harness. the harness has been modified in NO way. has anyone had this problem? can someone help me correct this?
    thanx
