  • re-location of the CD changer

Okay, I'm thinking very seriously about installing a system in the trunk. My problem is the CD changer. Installing a sub in the trunk of a convertible requires the location of the CD changer to be somewhere else other than the trunk. Otherwise, the sub will make the CD's skip. I'm wondering, if any of you have re-located the changer and where you put it. I was looking into putting it in the center console. The glove box is too small and I wouldn't have space to put all my crap. Any ideas? It's a 12 disc so it's not the smallest thing in the world. Anything smaller would fit under the seat, but that's not going to happen.

Are you sure you even have to re-locate it?? Will the sub really affect it?? I have never heard this but then again I dont have a convertible so I probably dont know what Im talking about. I re-located mine to the other side of the trunk, but its a hardtop. I havent had any problems with skipping and the trunk of the hardtop is still pretty enlosed when the flap is up. But if you do have to re-locate I can assure you its very easy. I just cut and and extended the wires on mine. You can also buy a new cable to relocate it but its like 50 bucks so I decided not to go that route.

I would suggest add in the bass and troubleshoot the CD changer and move it around if needed if it actually does make it skip. I really REALLY don't think that's going to be a problem. Never heard of that happening before either.

I'll give it a try and let you know after a couple of days of hard bass hitting....then if it skips, I'll go from there. Thanks for the info everyone.
