What you listen too actually won't make a differnece. JL audio makes some of the toughest amps alive. You'll pay out the @ss for it, but it's worth it. Your amp should be based on the impeadance of the subs. You can tune any sound system to meet your needs. It's all about what the subs handle and what the amp puts out. If you go with a big amp make sure you've got the power to feed it or you'll liqufy power and ground wires.
