  • replacing stolen stereo

    i recently had the faceplate on my stereo, among other things, stolen and the unit has a god bit of damage to it where they tried to rip it out despite the bolts holding it in. i had a pioneer dh-p7dh and i'm looking for something comparable or better to replace it with. i'll prolly go the ebay route since it doesn't look like i'll get much from my insurance and budget is a big issue. any suggestions?

    Are you only looking for 1.5 DIN headunits, cuz you wont find much. If you dont mind putting in a 1-din unit, I personally like the Kenwood Excelons for the price. They happen to have a lot of security features too like an LED warning light when you detach the face and programmable security codes....

      Don't know if this will help you out in any way, but;
      Anytime I replace my Head-Unit, I stick with Sony Brand(s). This way, I don't need to do any wiring for the back of the radio, the plug is basically compatible to all other Sony Head-Units. ;)
      The guy I deal with on Ebay is: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-c...&userid=scala1
      or:
      http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-c...oundconnection

      I have dealt with Scala1 three times before, and the quality of his brands are excellent!

        i would prefer to stay with a 1.5 din, just cuz i like the way it fits in the car without having to have mounting brackets and all that stuff. chances are i will just end up having the one i have repaired, but if i get a choice i might try to upgrade.
