I have been doing some audio work, replacing the factory speakers. The ones in the back went well, I replaced the factory 4" speaker and tweeter with a Pioneer component set. The 6 3/4" speakers in the back seat are a different story. I replaced them, and I guess the Monsoon system put out too much power for the speakers. Could someone recommend a good replacement speaker for the backseat area?

You are going to get a lot of different answers, some being no speakers in the back. Do a search to find out a lot of info.

Basically the door speakers appear to run off the head unit, but any and all speakers hooked up to the monsoon amp see a load of 2 ohms, whereas most of the aftermarket speakers available are 4 ohms. This mismatch in impedance could be the reason your speakers went south.
