thinking on a new sub..ne suggestions

ok guys i just got my system all hooked up and finalized well... i got my components and coaxials on my 4 channel amp and they scream, they drown out my 10 solobaric L7!! i would like to upgrade!!
what i have:
audiobahn 8000t (800 rms@2ohms)
solobaric 10 L7 (600 rms@ 2 ohms)

i have the amp at half because my solobaric is either worn out or just cant handle the amp!!

any suggestions on me a sub would like a single 10 or 12

btw 800 watts rms is the most i will be able to run bc of my amp!!

Is the box sealed or ported? I don't think it should be drowning out the l7. Also you say the gain is only half becuase the speaker can't handle it... This tells me you don't know/how to set it up right, the gain isn't a volume control.

for safety i have it at half reason:
i had ut turned up 3/4 messed with setting if a real hard bass note would hit it would bottom out very rarely but happened a couple times, turned down some settings and some songs it still did it, i just turned down the gain a lil bit more ( a lil more than half not much though) and i play with my settings now just to be safe when a hard hitting song comes up i dont have to hurry and mess with settings!! does this make sense or is it just not set right??? if not lmk what i should mess with, btw sealed box with a small small leak!!

you got the money? buy an idmax 12. you want something not as loud but just as "nice" sounding, buy an infinity perfect. magnum d2 aslo, elemental 12.a series from last year. one rexxx or sexxx. one brahma, basically, anything but a jl. for the money, theres better.
you want MAD loud bass with a trade off in sq? buy my sub. its in the other thread entitled "check this sub out"

A 10" L7 shouldn't be over powered by what you have in there now. Sounds like you may have a tweeter machine going on.... [img]redface.gif[/img] :D .... where do you have your crossovers set?

And for pure SPL, the L7 is actually hard to beat. You making the box yourself? How about a vented 12" L7? Dollar for dollar, that would be VERY hard to beat.

That isn't the way you set the gain, I will look for the website that explains it. Get a ported box from www.subthump.com And it will be much louder.

Lound Clean and Clear, Go with JL 13.5 W7. I've got one in my car and Im able to balance out everything. A decent EQ might help too. [img]smile.gif[/img]
