More bass from front??

I've noticed that I really don't get a good amount of bass from the front 6.5's. Is there a way to seal off the speakers (enclose them) to get more bass? Anything done by anyone here, and pics??

btw: I have infinity 6.5's up front with 75w to each speaker from my amp.

Sealing off the speakers will improve all frequencies. Lower frequencies included. However, 6.5"s don't produce any real amount of bass. Spend that time and money you'll use sealing your 6.5"s to put in a single 10" subwoofer. And then have 100 times more bass then you will ever get from all four 6.5"s.

true, but I like having a surround-sound effect, so I think I'll opt for sealing the front speakers. I'm also not looking to have my radio bass so loud that it makes houses shake, I HATE THAT!!! Thank you though... [img]smile.gif[/img]

Anyone have any ideas on sealing the front speakers, and what type of material I should use??

Just having a subwoofer doesn't mean you are gonna shake houses. A subwoofer is a critical part of a surround sound system. I bet even one of those Bazooka bass tubes or the Infinity bass link would give you what you are looking for. Both of which have builtin amplifiers, so there's no need to buy one. And if it's too much bass...turn the gain down. But if you really want to seal off your speakers.... I think fiberglass is your only option. There is VERY little room in the front doors due to the windows. Do you still have that black plastic rain guard that goes over the speakers? Maybe just glass to that and seal them off. For the rear speakers.... go over to www.fbodyaudio.com and talk to DJsexay. He's the expert when it comes to that. I think he fit 8"s back there. [img]graemlins/omg.gif[/img] But he'll give you fair warning, it's no easy task.

I have 4 4 and a 1/4 jbl speakers and a 10" planet audio sub. Sounds great. I can shake the whole car if I want(500watt amp) or leave it turned down. It's crystle clear. The mids are pushing all the highs and the sub is handling bass only. I would recommend a similar setup.

Hey 96Firebird311, thank you! I'm gonna contact that guy to see what he did for the rear speakers. I know how to do basic fibergalssing, and I do have 2 extra rain guards, so I'll give it a shot [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

Hey man, the only way to get good bass, is a sub. You dont need 2- 600 watt 12's, but a nicley powered 10 in the back will do nicely. btw, those infinities rock, i got the same ones.
