  • Whats a good price?

My friend wants to sell me his system. He is asking $600 for the following (sorry, dunno specs on them yet):

    2 12" Type E's in a box
    Amp
    Wiring
2 Alpine 6 1/2" (would be put in the sail panels behind front seats and next to back seats)

I'm thinking thats a bit overpriced for what it is, but I'm not too keen on car audio. And I think I'd pass on the 2 6 1/2" speakers, since I love the stock ones that are there now (they put out a good amount of bass). I'll try to get the specs here soon. But I've also heard that Type E's his hard, which is what I'm looking for.

nah, go get a type r. One type r will hitt harder than both of those 12s. It is a good price if it's a good amp. I have a fosgate p2 (10") and a 3001 fosgate amp, and it hits plenty hard for me. I just aim it at the hatch, and it works fine. Some peopel even tell me it hits harder than their 2 12s. Just put it this way, you get what you pay for

Your buddy is rippin you. True, we don't know anything about the amp.... but you gotta figure it's on par with the other listed gear. And is the box custom made for the f-bodies? If it was AND the amp is decent, it might be a worth while look. Otherwise, your giving your money away.

nah not really, you can get more for your money and better sound quality with the set-up I have, mine was only $280, with the amp, sub, 8 guage wire, and sub box, which really isn't a bad price, but I also get a nice discount;)

That amp better be a JL mono block or something else like it lol. Spend your money elsewhere or offer him $200 for everything, doesn't sound like much of a friend.
