Tomarrow im going to order combo 2 12's and a 900 watt rms mono sub. theyy say you have to bridge the amp to power both speakers. how do i do that? do i need any hard ware or could i just splice and solder the wires? how do you change how many ohms your setup is running at?

What kind of 12's are they?
- What are their power-handling capabilities?
- How many voice coils do they have?
- What is the resistance of each voice coil?
No, no extra tools or parts are necessary. You'll just need some wire and spade connectors. (unless you plan to solder the wires to the voice coils)╓
║ Matt M
║ Down with the Sixxness
║ Polo Green 1995 3.8 Camaro
║ intake, cat, catback, shocks, 3.42\'s, and 12\'s in the trunk
╙

this is where wiring 101 comes in. i'm is the ED deal guessing this you are speaking of so what ohm rating for the subs did you get, the dual 2ohm subs or the dual 4ohm (this will determine how you wire them)2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

ok, i just checked the ed website and the only offer that deal with the dual 2ohm subs. if this is what you bought then you want to wire it like i am about to tell you. first take one sub and wire the coils together in a series now take the other and do the same. Now run the power from the amp to one sub and then the other in parrallel. this will render a 2ohm overall rating, if i'm thinking correctly, and will give each sub 450wrms of power (which is optimal). should be a good setup, my friend has the amp running his 3 infinity's and another friend with the subs running off an xtant. i plan on getting full system deal from them when i finish with my performance mods.

thats them. so this is my first time wiring up subs. so i run wire to the speaker + to + and - and - for both subs right? then where do i run the wires for the voice coils from? are the powered by the amp itself?2002 35th Anniv. so you've got two subs, each with dual 2Ohm voice coils, right? And they're going to be powered by a NINe.2 amp, right?
Here's the wiring configuration you'll need: [link].
That will present a final load of 2 Ohms to your amp.╓
║ Matt M
║ Down with the Sixxness
║ Polo Green 1995 3.8 Camaro
║ intake, cat, catback, shocks, 3.42\'s, and 12\'s in the trunk
╙

Articacid. As you said, the Nine.1 is a mono amplifier. Meaning single channel. You cannot bridge a single channel amp. Bridging is a term used when you combine two seperate channels into a single more powerful channel. You will need you're subs exactly like this. Yes, those are dual 4 ohm subwoofers. But the wiring is exactly the same.

good you guys found the actual diagram for what i was trying to explain. i think the reason they offer the dual 2 ohm subs is because they want the subs to opperate in their "optimal safe range" but im not sure. And yeah my brain totally just canceled out the part about bridging as soon i saw mono but good call to bring that up.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

hey 311, the launch page is here for all those wiring diagrams. The circuit diagrams are offline though... running low on webspace.╓
║ Matt M
║ Down with the Sixxness
║ Polo Green 1995 3.8 Camaro
║ intake, cat, catback, shocks, 3.42\'s, and 12\'s in the trunk
╙

the amp is the nine.1 i asked eD how to power both speakers being that its mono. they said it is bridged internally. so even though it is mono, it has 2 sets of out puts. i know that bridging is normally referred to for combining 2 channels but this is what they called it. do you guys think i should get a capacitor? also what gauge should i run to the speakers the wiring kit im getting come with 12 do you think that will be enuf or should i go with 8?2002 35th Anniv. A cap is never a bad idea, it will help keep your lights from dimming and i beleive it can even extend your battery life. Dont spend a ton of money on a cap though (inside they are all the same). also 12 guage wire should be fine, i tend to overkill and use the thickest wire i can fit easily into the terminal but i'm anal with this kind of stuff.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

i found some nice chrome 1 farad caps on ebay for like 50 bucks+ship. im kinda the same way. its not like wire cost all that much you know? every little bit helps i guess. if u do, do it at least you dont hvae to worry about wire holding you back from you full potential.2002 35th Anniv. 1 farad would work great since you just have the one amp. $50 is a pretty good price too, so i would go ahead and get it (check shipping before you buy though, sometimes they try to rape you on the shipping). I think you will be very pleased with the system, good luck on the install.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard
