Alright my girlfriend got me a pair of sony xplod 6 x 9 speakers for the back in my firebird. They dont look like they will fit at all but they look good and one of mine is blown out so id like to put them in. can i do this? Does any1 else have them? I know nothing about stereos but i know my speaker is buzzing and its annoying. I just want to know what people get to replace them and if these will fit?

Are you going to exchange them for the right size Sony Xplod speakers or get a different brand? I was just going to say that I've been happy with my sony speakers. They are very clear and loud. I have the 6 x 9's but that's because Third Gen's have 6 x 9's in the back and 4 x 6's in the front. My 1991 Firebird - 3.1L V6 with custom K&N CAI, Flowmaster, Sony CD, MTX 4-ch amp, 2 MTX 10\" subs, Sony & Polk speakers, Eagle Wheels

My 1997 Firebird Trans Am with T-Tops, Panasonic CD, Alpine Speakers, MagnaFlow Exhaust, and Lingenfelter CAI.

I have Sony Xplod 6.5" in my door (same size as the rear seat panels too) and they have mounting holes in the right location for our 6.5S (6.75") holes.
If you want, you could just exchange the 6x9's for the 6.5" and be set.

Well I like the appearance of them and im thinkin about gettin 4 6.5 sony xplods. I can get a good deal on them. But will they be able to go in my door so i wont have to put the cover back on and it will still cover everything up? Im pissed at the back ones, whoever made it that way is pretty gay. :cool:2000 Firebird V6, Fire engine red w/ t-tops. I've got the 6.5" Xplod's in my doors. They fit perfectly and sound great!! Although, the cover that comes with them was unsuable.

Try seeing if you can take out those 4x6's in the rear deck, and replace it with the 6x9's... it might fit... maybe... very tightly!
