That's it.
Some amps have high level inputs that you can hook the speaker wires straight to so you get the signal going to your amp.
What kinda amp/subs are you looking at?

You can use the speaker wires though... just splice it and hook it up to your new amps high level inputs, or buy a high level adapter... then u can still keep the Monsoon system.Massivefirebird\'s <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/leondb\" target=\"_blank\">(leonDB) Cardomain</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/cgi-bin/flowmaster\" target=\"_blank\"> Flowmaster 80</a>, <a href=\"http://www.knfilters.com/\" target=\"_blank\"> K&N FIPK</a>, <a href=\"http://www.jetchip.com/\" target=\"_blank\"> Jet Stage 2 & 180º T/S</a>, <a href=\"http://www.boschusa.com/AutoParts/SparkPlugs/PlatinumPlus4/\" target=\"_blank\"> Bosch quads</a>, <a href=\"http://www.pilotautomotive.com/pilot2dn.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> Pilot 1055 Fogs</a>, <a href=\"http://makotoautotrends.com/\" target=\"_blank\">Clear turn signals</a>, <a href=\"http://www.autoventshade.com/\" target=\"_blank\">AVS rear blackouts</a>... <a href=\"http://www.massiveaudio.com\" target=\"_blank\">2 Massive CW 12\'s</a>, <a href=\"http://www.kicker.com\" target=\"_blank\">Kicker 2252, 652,& 352 XI Amps</a>, <a href=\"http://www.mbquart.com/2003/en_US/home/\" target=\"_blank\">MB Quart</a>.

I did that when I had my stock tape deck.
All you need to do is splice your rear speaker's wires (4 inch speakers with the seperate tweeters) and hook that up to the high level adapters/high level inputs on your aftermarket amp...
They must put the Monsoon amp somewhere accessible... anyone know?Massivefirebird\'s <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/leondb\" target=\"_blank\">(leonDB) Cardomain</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/cgi-bin/flowmaster\" target=\"_blank\"> Flowmaster 80</a>, <a href=\"http://www.knfilters.com/\" target=\"_blank\"> K&N FIPK</a>, <a href=\"http://www.jetchip.com/\" target=\"_blank\"> Jet Stage 2 & 180º T/S</a>, <a href=\"http://www.boschusa.com/AutoParts/SparkPlugs/PlatinumPlus4/\" target=\"_blank\"> Bosch quads</a>, <a href=\"http://www.pilotautomotive.com/pilot2dn.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> Pilot 1055 Fogs</a>, <a href=\"http://makotoautotrends.com/\" target=\"_blank\">Clear turn signals</a>, <a href=\"http://www.autoventshade.com/\" target=\"_blank\">AVS rear blackouts</a>... <a href=\"http://www.massiveaudio.com\" target=\"_blank\">2 Massive CW 12\'s</a>, <a href=\"http://www.kicker.com\" target=\"_blank\">Kicker 2252, 652,& 352 XI Amps</a>, <a href=\"http://www.mbquart.com/2003/en_US/home/\" target=\"_blank\">MB Quart</a>.

it depends on what year you have...
for the 2000's with monsoon I know that the amp is in the right rear quarter panel next to the power antenna motorJustin<br /><a href=\"http://www.bass482.com/firebird/index.html\" target=\"_blank\"> 2000 Black Firebird A4 Y87<br /></a>170.2rwhp/203rwtq (SAE Corrected)

Yes, the monsoon amp is located in the spare tire well. Its kind of hard to see but its behind the spare. All you see is a peice of black plastic. The amp is on the back of this piece. As far as adding another amp to the monsoon system-the easiest and safest way in my opinion is to use a PAC OEM-1. You can get one at this link http://www.affsave.com/pac.htm It is completely plug and play which means no splicing wires and no guesswork. It connects directly to the stock HU and gives you two sets of female RCA outputs as well as a turn-on lead. It is a little more costly but well worth it I think. You can also use this adapter to replace the stock HU and keep the monsoon system. Hope this helps.1998 Camaro 3.8<br />Bone Stock<br /><br />Stereo:<br />-Stock HU<br />-PAC OEM-1<br />-MTX Thunder 4244 Amp<br />-Kicker RS6 component speakers in doors<br />-MTX Thunderform<br /><br />Soon to come:<br />-MTX 4250D Amp<br />-Kicker F6.5c subs
