  • Milhouse box keeps shifting out of place

I heard this rattling coming from my trunk area so i turned around and saw my milhouse box (with 2 Phoenix gold subs-- heavy) came out from the hinges and was really crooked. Having a hard time getting it to stay hinged, and the plastic part is getting scuffed up bad. I actually thought I had broke the plastic off. I originally had folded some gray material up and put it in the hinge then put the box on top of it but they came out... any tips or tricks? it refuses to stay put on the little rubber bumper things (sorry for not saying that one right)... like the left side when looking into the trunk wants to fall in. wtf? Are my subs too heavy?????

Its a box that subthump.com used to sell. It pretty much replaces the stock millhouse (flap that goes up and down in the trunk area) with a custom millhouse that can support subs and a box. I wish they still sold it, I would have gotten that instead of getting the T-top box.

Oh yeah.. ive seen the box just wasnt aware of the product name.

You can buy a couple L brackets and mount the box in place so it doesnt move around..
You could possibly mount it on the sides where you wont see the brackets and it should hold it just fine.

What kind of subs do you have in it.. usually they arent too heavy unless ur really into it.

I'm holding in my stealth box with a couple strips of heavy duty velcro - you can get it in 1" wide by 12" long strips at the hardware store - maybe some would help out?

Has anyone ever seen a milhouse box that holds a 12" sub? I have an Alpine that I just got, sounds very good for being a free air sub right now, instead of in a sealed or ported box. Now that summer is coming along, I want to be able to drop the T-tops back there instead of on the backseats. ;) Circuit City claims they can probably make me one, for around $400 which sounds a little insane for me. Most I think I'd pay for a box without subs is like $150 Even if it is custom! Any ideas guys?
