i was just thinking about a new headunit http://www.clarion.com/usa/products/.../DXZ655MP.html
and i was wondering how it would work. currenty my system runs off the stock headunit and monsoon amp. i have subs running off of their own amp. my question is is i get this headunit will it change anything ? i thought i heard the stock headunit has a built in amp ? thanx alot

You are correct, in the you have a delco amp, but it's not in your stock head unit. An amp is something that transfers power to your speakers. The upgraded head unit would produce better sound for the fact that it is running probably at 25 more watts rms than your stock head unit. If I were you, I'd go with an alpine head unit or pioneer. Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
