I just purchased a car alarm and it was required for me to have it installed where I bought it, Circuit City... Now they have had my car for over a day and they are saying they don't know how long it is going to take and they have to find the factory alarm wire and bypass it. Anybody have information on stock firebird (98) car alarms(such as wire location and color) or a quick fix I could suggest to them so I can get my car back soon?

Got it back today, they said they were not able to override the orignal power locks, so now I have to use 2 remotes.. one to unlock/lock my car and one to turn on the alarm.. its a pain, but it will work out
Don't put up with incompetence. Did you try talking to the Roadshop manager? If that doesn't work just go to the front counter and ask for the cool line number. I never really dealt with car electronics stuff much when I worked there, but you'll probably get somewhere by calling them.
I know at the best buy that I currently work at, we can fix that for you for $17. Just go ask your local best buy. That's all we charge for a custom install. It may be extra though, since it was not originally installed by best buy.
Car expresses who you are. If you have a ****ty car, you must be a ****ty person;)

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/995979
My alarm was kind of quiet... so I looked at where they installed the siren... they had it facing the metal wheel well with no place for the sound to travel out.. i took it off and drilled it to the side of the wheel well so it was facing down where there is a space in the engine and it was 100% louder... they must be morons.
I'm happy with the alarm though, if you lightly bump my car it chirps 3 times.. if you lean on it or bump it a little harder it sets off a LOUD alarm sequence, I started up my other car that has a JL W7 in it to see if my sub would set off my alarm and it didn't(i've set off many other car alarms with this sub), so i am very happy with the alarm, but unhappy with the setup & service.
I will call best buy and set up an apointment.. hopefully it won't take another 2 days to have it set up right...
Wohoo, I e-mailed circuit city about the troubles I had with the install. The keyless entry(2 keypads) and my car was missing a part that was suppsoed to come with the kit... a dual shock sensor, I think they took it, the shop employees said that the factory one was suppsoed to stay and they never gave me the other shock sensor. they are refunding me almost $100, giving me a dual shock sensor that was suppsoed to come with the kit and reinstalling my car alarm for free, I am going to watch this time because I don't want the messing around with my car.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
