  • iPod Interface

Hey guy, haven't been around here in a while. Been busy with school and work. Anyways, I got myself a new 40GB iPod, love it. So I know that Alpine has their new KCA-420i interface, but they say with 2004 head units. I have the CDA-7897, from 2002-03. Will this work with my head unit? D don't care if I can't control it from my head unit. I hate those FM transmitters, they suck. Also does anyone know where i can get a dash mount? Thanks for the help.

Or... you could sell your headunit and just connect the ipod directly to your amp like this guy

If your head unit has auxillary function, you can go to radioshack and buy a cord that plugs into your ipod then has the red/white jacks which you then plug into your head unit. my friend has it in his panasonic unit. for now though i am using the FM transponder until i get a new headunit
