Ok, some of you may have seen my other posts about hooking up the amp to the stock bose system. I went down and got the line output converter professionaly installed, so I have that done. But now I need to hook up my power cable to the battery. Can I just remove the single nut on the little red box the one with the + on it? (I hope you know what I mean by that). Can I just unscrew the first nut closest to the drivers side and hook my power cable up to that? Instead of taking off my battery cover and doing all that stuff to get to the + on the battery itself. Also can I just unscrew that bolt on the + box or do I have to unscrew the - battery terminal first?
Thanks
You can hook your power wire up to that nut (in the plastic red case) if you want, but only if you have a small amp. The wire from the battery to that plastic red case isn't very thick, maybe 8 guage. They make a battery post adapter for side mount batteries. Unscrew the factory (+) 8mm bolt on the battery and the new adapter screws right back in, plus it ALSO has separate bolt on the end to hook up aditional wiring, such as a power wire for an amp. HERE is a link to what I'm talking about. B.Buys, C. City and even Walmart sells them. If it were me, I'd use something like that instead of using that red plastic thingy.
