• Anyone have experience with polyfill?

I want more bass from my Eclipse 86100.4 sub, it's in a "Stealth" type box wth only .5ft^3 of space. I have heard great things about polyfill making a box sound "bigger." I've heard all you do is keep adding polyfill until the resonance stops decreasing, and there yoku have it. A small box that sounds bigger than it rally is.

Does anyone know the truth of this, or have any experience with it? Any tips and tricks would be useful.

    Thanx

it will make a difference that is noticeable. one tip though don't buy it from a stereo place, go to walmart where they sell fabric and get it there. Should be a couple of bucks for a big bag. Crutchfield's recommends 1 to 1 1/2 lbs per cube.

It slows down the waves in the box, fooling the speaker into thinking it is actually in a larger box.

Another good place also is Craftstores... like Ben Franklin, Craft Supply, Hobby Company, or anywhere that sells craft stuff, like fabrics, sewing materials, ornaments, etc. You can them pillow-sized for cheap!

But, if you really want bigger bass, you should consider a bigger/higher power handling sub. Because all you really gain out of polyfill, in most cases, is slightly deeper bass... and sometimes, smaller boxes are louder than bigger boxes...
