I'm pretty new to the whole car stereo thing and was just wondering how hard it would be for me to add on to or replace some of my Bose speakers... is it gonna be as much of a pain in the *** as replacing the head unit was?

The panels need to be removed from the front doors... that's the hardest part I think. All you need to do is take out all the screws in the door... the weirdest part is the auto-window buttons.

Ok, thats good... shouldn't be too much of a problem although I think I'll wait until it gets warm again to do it - but if I buy some speakers I should just be able to take out the ones I have and put the new ones right in?

Yes, as long as they're the same size, it shouldn't be a problem. Are you getting components, or coaxials? If it's coaxials, you might as well stay with the stock ones, unless they are expensive! Component sets are the best! The mids are way better than a coaxial can dish out, and the tweeters sound sweeter... a good set can run about 350.

I was actually looking at some alpine speakers to compliment my new head unit but I don't know squat about any of it

Alpine makes good speakers, as well as head units.

Listen to it at the shop, and if you think it sounds better than your stock speakers, go for it, as long as you got the money!
