• what do you guys think

I am thinking about 3 10'' he2's on a jbl 1200.1 amp. Would this be loud? I love loud systems and have to have a loud one but can't afford w7's.

Wow! Very close to my last system. 3 10" HX2's and a bd1000.1 I had them in a sealed box with .75cuft per woofer. Decent SQ. My high was 145.2db legal on the dash. If you had the same box, I would expect you to be very close to that.

And what makes you think you have to have the W7's to have a loud system?

i would need a w7 to handle that power plus one w7 is cheaper than 2 w6v2s and thats about the only other thing to handle the power.

Are you saying that the W7 is the only woofer that can handle that type of power? (1200WRMS)

I know it is the only subwoofer that can handle that kind of power! Its 1200Wrms@1.5ohms! Audiobahn is 1500Wrms@4ohms and the only thing that beats the w7 is MMATS its like 1500Wrms@.65ohms

JL AUDIO OWNZ JOO!!!
Quality owns! Plus JLs technology is sooo friggin advanced, look at there smart amps. Sure some of the PPI amps are similiar but hell the w7 has like 7 of there own technology patents!

Yeah also that sub cost $1200 Its the MTX RFL152 2000Wrms @ 2 ohms. The best buy for great hard bass is with out a doubt JL Audio 12w3v2 or the new 13w6v2 !!!! Yes the people at JL have made the w6 into a 13 inch sub. I was at ovations (only Authorized dealer for JL in Indiana) and I over heard a JL sales rep. talking about the new JL amps and new JL subs. They have this new amp that is 450/4 rms @ 4 ohms. Or it was 450/4 into 112.5Wrms @ 4 ohms into 4 Channels. Anyways there new line is going to blow up.!!!

Maybe I'm mis-reading this topic. Are we saying the W7 is the only woofer that can handle 1200WRMS??? And if we are talking about which woofer can handle the most power.... hmmmm.... I'm sure the award probably goes to Digital Designs.

No we were talking about the best subwoofer out on the market, and personally I say that JL AUDIO has the market pegged with its patented w7 design! DD is good however you need tons of space to get them twerkin right.

Sounds like you are trying to figure out which woofer can hold the most power to me.......

And what the he!! are you talking about???? Sounds like you are talking about a W7 amplifier!!! :D :D ;)

And yes. I agree with you. I also believe the W7 is probably the "best" woofer on the market at this time. However, you gotta look at it from all angles. It isin't #1 when it comes to all out SPL, plus it costs a fortune. You can get a slightly lesser sub for much less $$$$$. BUT all around........ I agree. W7

The w7's handeling power is rated at 1200wRMS@1.5 ohms

You are correct. The w7 isnt a great performer at IASCA | USAC however JL never has. They go for top notch sound quality with as much bass as you can handle.

Cost is a major factor. But look at the lifetime warranty that they come with if installed by an Authorized JL Dealer. Everything they put out is covered for the life of the product. And most likely if you dont want it the dealer will buy it back from you send it back to JL and resell it. Any which way you look at JL is the best of the best. Now all they need are HU! If they came out with headunits like RF does now then their systems would WWRRROOOCCCKKK!!

OK........ where did you hear that? First, we don't even know what size W7 he is talking about. Second, the W7 has a single 3 ohm voice coil. So......are you referring to two W7's?

the w7 is the only jl sub i would buy. I have a friend with two 12'' w7's with two 500/1 amps and he hits 154.3 dB in a 2001 cougar. those damn subs jump out so far his back window looks like its going to break. I am still stuck on 3 10's or 2 12's. I just don't know. I know the jbl 1200.1 is going to be my amp so i want the best combo of sub(s) that will give me the loudest sound.

Well why not go for two JBL W12GTI? They look great, I know that these things knock. I was at Indy Truck Bash 2001 and a Pontiac GTP had only one in a clear plexiglass box(TIGHT AS HELL)and that thing knocked the sh!t of me. The 13w7 has a MAX continuous power handling of :
1000wRMS @ 1.5 OHMS yes it does have 3 OHM impedence rating but that is at normal power.
