Yes, you can splice into any wire thats +12V when the ignition is on.... It'd be alot easier to do it from the fuse box because thats the easiest access then trying to find which wire out of the 10-million wires under the dash are +12V-IGN. The next easiest point to get a +12V-IGN source would be behind the stereo... the stereo head unit gets it's signal to turn on from the ign and there is 1 wire back there that does it.... if you have an aftermarket stereo and wiring harness it would be the red wire on the harness.
Well to do it with a relay you'd have to have the relay. You'll want a 12V 30 amp SPDT (single pole double throw) like this: http://www.partsexpress.com//pe/show..._ID=9682&DID=7 (A 4 pin SPST (single pole single throw) relay would be better, but they're harder to come across. The 5 pin SPDT one will work fine.)
It has 5 terminals on the bottom.
You'd want to leave 87a open and connected to nothing... thats what will be connected when the ignition is off. And the red wire from the stereo can be put at 85. You'd then cut the 1-wire hot lead to the trunk solenoid and splice one end of that newly-cut wire into 87 and the other into 30. Finding that wire though, could prove to be tricky.
What this will do is switch the relay and complete the circuit for the trunk release solenoid (if spliced in line with that wire) when +12V and a very small current are flowing thru the coil between 85 and 86 (when the Ignition is on). Effectively your trunk will only be able to be popped with the key in the ignition or with the key in the trunk-release-key-slot.
I hope this helps.

I would seriously recommend getting an alarm. I thought I would never get my **** jacked, but low and behold I was walking up to my car to leave for work, and my stereo was gone...Trust me it's a worth while investment. I was lucky they didn't know where my trunk pop button was or they woulda jacked my subs to. After loosing about $2000 worth of stereo stuff and having to replace it, $200 for a decent alarm is worth it. It was the first thing I did with my next paycheck.
