Anybody with Monsoon system w/CD, got a ? for you!

EDIT!!! I am referring to the Pontiac Monsoon HU here. Sorry for not mentioning it in the subject... :(

How is the changer controlled throgh the HU? How do you change from, say, FM to the changer?

I have read that the HU needs to have an AUX button, but I have yet to see even one with it. So, tell me how it works.

I may be wrong but I believe in dash CD monsoon equals no cd-changer. I think only the tape monsoon has the cd-changer controls.

Although the wiring may already be there, the monsoon cd-player does not have the changer controls.

Yes, the HU does have to have an AUX button to control the changer. And supposedly only the late 99-present f-bodies with the CD HU can control the changer. Basically you hit the AUX button then the changer comes on then you have to change the disc number by the functions on the 1-6 station presets.

Well everyones right the radio out of my 2000 has the aux button and i know for fact you can have the cd monsoon and a cd changer in the back.if you dont have the AUX button i dont think you can hook the changer up to it unless its the tape deck. You want my monsoon? 75 +shipping and you can have it. Its in PERFECT condition. Email me

Your's has AUX button??? Really??? I've browsed through several people's sites, Ebay etc. looking for the AUX button but have yet to see even single one. :(

Anybody know about the Pontiac Monsoon wheter it has that stupid "AUX" button? I have yet to see one ANYWHERE... :(

SOMEBODY here MUST have a Firebird/TA with Monsoon changer, right??? How is it controlled through your HU?

I was under the impression that the Pontiac Monsoon and the Chevy monsoon were the same. MYABE im wrong but i know the pontiacs have the AUX button too. MY friends 2001 firebird has an AUX button for the cd changer. Cant get pictures at the present time due to the fact the cars in florida for 2 more weeks. im sure SOMONE has to know for sure...but im 99.9% the pontiacs have the AUX button too or something thats SIMILIAR.

The Pontiac and Chevy Monsoon HU's look completely different and therefore I'd like to see a pic of the Pontiac HU so that I can make sure there is that stupid AUX button somewhere. I am not going to believe it before I see it with my own eyes. :D

And if anybody reading this has an OEM changer with their Pontiac Monsoon system, I'd appreciate any input! ;)

I just bought a pontiac cd monsoon headunit off a friends 2000 firebird. From what I remember (my car is currently stored for winter) there is no AUX button on my HU. What does it do if you hit it if dont have anything hooked up to your HU?

Out of over 1300 members not even one single Pontiac owner with Monsoon + OEM CD changer, huh...? :eek: :D

I have your answer on how 2 run it. 1 there is no AUX on a Pontiac monsoon system. But there is on the chevy. What you do for the pontiac is press the play/CD button and there you go 2 get the changer 2 work. [img]graemlins/penguin.gif[/img]

What Blue Flame said. I have a factory CD Moonsoon HU with a changer too. You just press the CD/Play button to cycle between the Changer and the single disc.
