  • INFINITY REFERECE 6000CS...What Amp?

    After listening to the MB Quart and Infinity at the local good guys, I have decide to get the infinity.

    INFINITY REFERECE 6000CS

    * Size: 6 1/2
    * Sensitivity: 92 dB
    * Frequency Response: 53-21,000 Hz
    * Recommended RMS Power: 90W
    * Peak Power Handling: 270W
    * Impedance: 4 ohms

    I heard both un-amp off one of their nicer kenwood HU.

    Now I know my stock Monsoon HU will not put out the same quality or power at the new Kenwood one, so what amp should I get to run these things. 90w per channel at 4 ohms is a lot of power, and the kenwood hu only put out 30w at 4ohm and they sounded great. What should I do?

    edit: How important is it to match a infinity amp to infinity speakers? Any advantage?

    its not important at all to match it with an infinity amp. I would also tell you to look into some cdt components if you are going to spend $150 (they are much better than the infinity but do what you like). I would not recomend the kenwood amp either. My favorite amp in this power range is the elemental designs nine.2 found here http://www.edesignaudio.com/nine2_overview.htm . The other amp i would recomend off the top of my head is the xtant 2200ix which you can only find on ebay now since it is no longer produced but it is an awesome amp.
