  • 6x9 confusion

A little bit ago I posted asking about a 6x9 installation in the rear deck.
    I got this response:

"The little tweeters way in the back are powered off of the headunit and the 4" speakers are powered off the Monsoon Amp; both speakers are 4-ohms each. I would leave the tweeters hooked up and just use the wires that hook up to the 4"'ers."

Do I have to do it this way because it would be louder if I used both, right? whos done it this way? who hasnt? Thanks.

If you want to leave the small tweeters hooked up, that's up to you. Not sure if it would make things any louder though. You can't 'combine' the wires for both the tweeter and the 4" to power each 6x9. I only suggested using the wires that hook up to the 4" because they will have more power since they come from the monsoon amp. The wires that hook up to the tweeters will have less power since they come from the headunit.

Why even put those back there? Just save the money and get a good comp. set.
