My friend at school told me he would sell me his subs and amp out of his truck. He has 2 JL Audio W3 12" subs and a 800 watt Rockford Fosgate Amp. He would sell everything for 300 bucks. One sub has the dust cap off it but he has it still. I think he has had these subs and amp for awhile, I really don't know how long tho. He says they are all in good condition except the dust cover being gone. Is this a good deal or not? And could I hook this up to my stock radio in my 94 Firebird and be ok? Thanks.

its a good deal if everything works. Listen too them with the trunk open while you are standing outside and see what problems you hear. If they sound decent like that then they should be fine in car. also i would be leary if its missing the cap, why is it missing the cap? It sounds fishy to me. those w3's are some seriously nice sub and thats a nice price. try and find out what model that amp is. alot of amp can be deceiving in power when he says 800 watts he prob means peak, but what really matters is the rms rating(whatit continuously runs at). those w3's handle at least 300 watts rms.<a href=\"http://cardomain.com/id/articacid\" target=\"_blank\">2002 35th Anniv. I looked at the subs today after school and I don't about them. They look ok but not good. He said he had them unhooked so he could sell them, so I couldn't listen to them, and are still in his truck. He told me he would sell them to me for 200 bucks now. I talked to this one kid and he said they used to be his old subs and then sold them to the kid that wants to sell them to me. I don't think I'm going to buy them, as much I want to have subs. I don't think that is a good deal, i would pass on it. I just got my friend brand new 2 JL w6 v2s, with a rockford fosgate amp,amp mount, a box, all the wires and goodies, for 500 installed brand new. sounds to me like they are blown if he wont hook them up for you to listen to. He told me today that he would take 125 bucks for the subs and amp. I told him I don't know. My other friend got told by this one kid that the subs are like messed up or something. I'm not going to do it. Do you think I should atleast buy the amp for 100 bucks or less? Ya guys I'm going to tell him no on this deal. Today he told me that it is only a 500 Watt amp. I don't know what to believe from this kid.
